This Is It

This is it:  my first blog entry.  After numerous unsuccessful attempts at blogging, here I am, trying it again.

It might be because I would like to revive my penchant for writing, but I think it’s more of my recent realization that there are already some things that I just don’t seem to remember.  I’m not some amnesiac or brain damaged person, but still, some documentation in cyberspace would not hurt.

And as part of my endeavour to hone my commitment-keeping skills, my first entry would be about the concert I have just been to.  I went to the Maroon 5 concert!  It was their second time to perform live in Manila and since I did promise myself way back in ’08 that if they do return, I’ll be there.  And  so I was!  Okay, so I bought this cheap-o Bronze ticket (and this is just so I could take one of my friends who wasn’t willing to spend PhP 5,830.00 for a Gold ticket) and had my third major concert experience.

Going Bronze at SMX Convention Center was a HUGE mistake.  The place was flat and the stage was low.  We watched from the screen the whole time!  So we stood there, tiptoeing every now in then, trying to catch a glimpse of Adam, or any band member.  And I did see Adam(‘s back) for a full second.  And being barely 5 feet only made matters worse because almost everyone was taller than me. There were times when I could not even watch from the big screen because this girl kept on moving around and blocking my view.  Those moments I had to watch from the camera of some other girl who videoed the whole thing.  Another awful thing was that the sound system sucked!  We could hardly hear Adam’s voice from where we stood.  There were several times when all I could hear was the girl/gay guy behind me, singing like there’s no tomorrow.

And that reminds me, Adam Levine is just so gay!  Haha!  He is too slim and I don’t think his moves were so hot.  And even if the girls around me were screaming tired “Marry me!”‘s and “Take me with you!”‘s, I’m just not convinced.  Hahaha!

But in all fairness to the concert, I had a great time singing along to their songs as they performed my favorites.  Their sets were great so it wasn’t a total waste.

Sunday Morning

I had my boyfriend download their third album so I was able to familiarize myself with their new songs.  I learned my lesson when I went to the Lifehouse concert last ’08 where I didn’t know half the songs.  At least in that concert my seat was elevated and smack on the center.  Anyway, the break lasted for about 3 minutes and I was starting to be really bummed about them not singing my grab-my-heart song yet.  But I was confident that they haven’t left for real since they haven’t sung the third album’s title track yet.  So we waited.  And they returned with it and went on to sing Makes Me Wonder and then Adam introduced the band.  We then learned that it was the drummer’s birthday!  Happy birthday Matt Flynn!  Thus they ended the night with Sunday Morning.

Happy.  ♥
