I had always wanted to write about yoga, especially after giving it a go as one of the health and wellness activities in the company I used to work with. Now, a chance to feature it has come and I am glad it did.
Life Yoga is one of the newest yoga studios that have arisen in BGC. It opened in 2015, brainchild of Noelle Rodriguez who wanted to take a “holistic approach to wellness by integrating good food, music, art and a sense of community into the practice of yoga”. It is located at Forbes Town Center and the surrounding scene of green grasses and trees give a calming backdrop to every yoga session.
I was able to attend a morning session that was headed by the famous Tesa Celdran. We did the Feel Good Flow series of the non-heated variety, which consisted mostly of sun salutation poses, with a couple of difficult ones like the Crane Pose and the headstand. Although I was no stranger to these poses, I still managed to break a sweat as it had been about a couple of years since the last time I did some yoga. It was truly exhilarating for me to be doing all those poses again, testing my flexibility and my ability to hold a pose (oftentimes the real challenge). After our yoga session, Ms. Tesa put some liniment on our necks which gave a new dimension to the Deadman’s Pose.It was my first time to do yoga at a yoga studio and Life Yoga really impressed me. They provided the yoga mats, yoga belts and wedge. The shower room is also cute with some lockers and of course, heated showers. Part of Life Yoga is the Vibe Cafe that serves organic but tasty food. It has a nice and calming ambiance with yoga-related decor and sayings.
It was a really good experience at Life Yoga. It reminded me that I should go back to my healthier lifestyle. And with the coming new year, there is more probability of that coming true.
